Rola religijności w procesach legitymizacji społecznego świata

Abstract

From the most distant times religion has been the most widespread and most effective instrument for legitimisation of the social world. The historical role that religion plays in the processes of legitimisation is based on a unique faculty — that is the placing of the phenomenon of human existence in the cosmic firmament. The realisation of religion and its legitimising function with respect to the world is effected within the frameworks of social structures in the context of which successive generations of human beings become socialised in such a way that the world of culture surrounding them becomes the unquestioned natural reality. In this article are presented deliberations on the legitimising procedures undertaken by the eccliastical structures. Attention is particularly drawn to the transformations in the legitimising relation of religion and the Church as regards the world in the context of the processes of secularisation of contemporary culture.
