Abstrakt: Persons with various disabilities as well as their closest relatives who believe in the merciful and almighty God manifesting in Christ are almost constantly confronted with question about the possibility or necessity of healing. The experience of people with disabilities shows that they often reject or feel harmed by the practice of healing which in various forms is present in the churches of all denominations. Despite the noble intentions of ones who pray for their healing people with disabilities often do not feel relief but suffer even more. Usually the cause of such a situation is the wrong assumptions underlying the healing prayers, such as connecting disability with a personal sin or the belief that the lack of healing is due to the poor faith of the healing person. Therefore in order for the healing practice to be truly life-giving, it is necessary to be free from false beliefs concerning disabilities that seems to be still present in the Church.
