Abstract

The author discusses the Diariusz więzienia moskiewskiego, miast i miejsc [Diary of the Moscow Prison of Cities and Places] by Adam Kamieński Dłużyk - an important source for the researchers of history and ethnographers. It is also the first document of the Siberian ordeal of Poles and an extremely interesting diary for historians of the 17th century literature. The history of edition of the text, the figure of the author of the relation, and the issue of his enforced stay in Siberia are discussed and the most important fragments of the mentioned work are characterized in the article.
