Literatura wobec dyskursu posthumanizmu : na przykładzie prozy Olgi Tokarczuk

Abstract

The problem undertaken in the article concerns the place and role of literature in the process of co‑creating the discourse of posthumanism. Research material constitutes the novel by Olga Tokarczuk entitled Prowadź swój pług przez kości umarłych (Drive your Plough over the Bones of the Dead). Observations that have been made lead to the conclusion that the means serving to co‑constitute posthumanism discourse by artistic texts are manifold and that they refer to various levels of communication. Here, one can mention an extended norm of capitalisation (level of orthography), specific measures undertaken in the sphere of nomination (level of semantics), particular stylistic solutions on the plan of description (level of narrative structure), various procedures employed for argumentation (level of rhetoric and style), the reinterpretation of existing axiological order (level of discourse), intertextual signals (level of text), deliberate transformations of the functions of a criminal novel genre (level of genology).
