Abstract

"The fertility rate has been declining in South Korea for several decades. Currently, the fertility rate is very low and does not ensure generation renewal. The situation is very difficult and leads to ageing of the Korean population (see: Howe et al. 2007). Fewer and fewer women opt for motherhood, and even when they do, their decision is well thought and in most cases the pregnancy is planned. More and more contemporary Korean women want to get higher education and achieve professional success (The Economist 11.06.2016).
