O filmowych festiwalach i turystyce kulturowej na przykładzie cieszyńskiego Kina na Granicy

Abstract

The article is aimed at drawing attention to the significance of film festivals and reviews for the development of cultural tourism in the sector of tourism of contemporary culture and tour- ism of cultural heritage. The reflections also concern the cultural and social significance of film festivals. Many Polish film festivals take place in towns with rich history and interesting architec- ture classified as cultural heritage – therefore, they are attractive destinations for cultural tour- ism. During a film event (festival, review), participants have opportunities to take part in film performances, to meet other products of contemporary culture and the objects which constitute the cultural heritage of the town, region and country. The discussed issues have been exempli- fied by the case of the film review The Cinema on the Border, taking place in Cieszyn and Czech Cieszyn.
