Abstract

“Strange garden’’, the painting by Józef Mehoffer (1902) is the spiritual inspiration for the photos included on the following pages of this book. The emotions triggered and inspired by this painting have become vividly remembered by the author of the photographs, until now. They become refreshed each time, the sunlit and dazzled garden, scorching heat and playng children awake the ambivalent feeling of sheer joy, in contrast to the subconscious fear of loss.
