Abstrakt: | The article is devoted to considerations on the role of symbolizm in the context of Sofia
Gubajdulina, a Russian composer. First, a biographical outline was provided, and subsequently,
the most important aspects of her technique were emphasized. What follows is the
basic information concerning the work creation and its construction. More specifically,
Gubjdulina’s symbolic elements were discussed, appearing in her works as:
— the number symbolism in which Fibonacci’s sequence and means of using it in Siedem
słów was prominent;
— the music instruments symbolism, consisting in ascribing a certain role to each of the instruments;
baia instrument symbolizes the God father, cello the Christ whereas an orchestra
the Holy Ghost. This peculiar nature of an instrument determines the form of
composition;
— a symbolic meaning of music figures: the way of realization of Gubajdulina’s one of the
most frequently used structure, i. e. the cross figure; it appears in |
