Abstract

The article constitutes an attempt to prove that the activity in favour of the sick and disabled constitutes an important element of librarian’s work. It also shows the engagement and efforts of psychologists, psychotherapists and workers of education in care and knowledge provision to this particular group of people. The work discusses modern forms of access to a written word and various forms of the therapy by means of the text. A librarian statistics, thoroughly analysed, allows for discerning shaping interests and reading needs of people with different dysfunctions.
