Abstract

The article is an attempt to interpret the works by Tadeusz Różewicz from the angle of belonging to a generation “consumed by death”. The dead — represented by Różewicz — impose themselves on the poet and order him to speak on their behalf. In this sense, poetry is work to the benefit of those who have passed away, an attempt to express the language of the inexpressible.
