"Czas jednoczący" : Krystyny Miłobędzkiej "zapisy stanu wojennego"

Abstract

The article is devoted to “Pamiętam” (“I Remember”), a book by Krystyna Miłobędzka with texts on experiencing the martial law period. In many respects, this book is an exceptional posi¬tion in Miłobędzka’s poetic output. Firstly, the volume is more engaged — it is really the only work referring to a definite time period and its accompanying events. Secondly, the structure of the lyrical subject has transformed from a singular “self” of the character into a collective, uniting “we” of the entire nation. The author of this article attempts to examine the manner in which the poet has faced this difficult socio-political subject, whether her poems fit into the context of civil (engaged) poetry, and finally, how she writes about entirely new experiences (participation, complicity, war with self and language) during the time of “great fellowship”.
