"Spadło jedno gęsie pióro bym je zastrugał na końcu" : haiku Grochowiaka

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to interpret Haiku-images, a final lyrical work by Stanisław Grochowiak, through authorial and meta-poetic trails, which indicate the author’s creative awareness and say a lot about the character of his efforts in the Japanese genre of poetry. The cycle of 105 poetic miniatures stands out from the poet’s other works in terms of both form and content. The recurring themes — praise, verbosity and a child — prove to be the key in understanding the author’s intent.
