Uwikłani w dyskurs : O postaciach parady “Kasander demokrata” Jana Potockiego

Abstract

The very article is an attempt to read Kasander demokrata, a one‑act text by Jan Potocki from a collection of Parades, as a text treating about a performative power of language. Potocki is portrayed here as a very good parodist of political discourses of opposing political parties, warning against extremist attitudes, but also seems to be a precursor of reflections on language as a tool of power, transforming individuals into ideology products and imposing a given vision of reality on them.
