Abstrakt: | The article traces the presence of the motive of Miodoborskie mountains in the
19th century literature constituting a part of a mountaineering landscape of Podole
which had become one of the most visible “landmarks” of the Ukrainian school before
the very name started to be commonly used. In 1809, that is, at the time of the Duchy
of Warsaw, the book Podróż w górach Miodoborskich by Franciszek Ksawery Giżycki
was published in Krzemieniec. It described a title geographical space and its particular
parts, geographical information, a characteristic of the most important cities, reports
on the inhabitants of Miodoborskie mountains, e.g. their customs and costumes.
Miodoborskie mountains as a fixed landscape reference, but also a n indispensable
element of human being identity living there will appear in the 1820s in poetry
by Tymon Zaborowski, whose works were in between Classicism and Romanticism.
Miodoborskie mountains will appear again in poetry by Maurycy Gosławski who published
an epic poem Podole in the first volume of his poetry “Poezje” in Warsaw. |
