Abstrakt: In history, it was commonly believed that intelligence was the domain typical of a man, so woman’s place was usually at home — alongside her husband and her access to education was often limited or completely prevented. Many women adapted to the prevailing conditions and abandoned the hope of changing their life situation, but together with the development of science in the nineteenth century, people began to wonder about the rightness of the thesis of the man’s superiority and the answers to the bothering questions were sought, among other things, in medicine — research over human brain began being conducted, one that tried to determine the differences in both sexes . Although it took many years to admit women equal rights in the access to education, today the situation of the softer sex has substantially changed — nowadays it is known that women and men are divided by the differences in both physiological and character traits, but this does not mean that the given sex has an advantage over the other — the right of access to education has become one of the privileges of every human being.
