dc.description.abstract | The article refers to the analogy between Juliusz Słowacki’s works and Friedrich
Nietzsche’s philosophy, which was popular in the Young Poland period. The author
makes an attempt to prove that the Spirit King and the „Overman” are similar yet
discrepant. Nietzsche calls for liberating body and the world from the spirit and God as they are of fake value, and thus destroy the human will. However, Słowacki believes
that it is the spirit that is the source of power. Nevertheless, what is common to both
Słowacki and Nietzsche is the affirmation of artistic work as the highest form of action.
Yet the overman’s artisitc work is entirely carnal in character, whereas the “genesian”
way leads „through the Spirit and for the Spirit.” | pl_PL |
