Dziedzictwo kulturowe Śląska Cieszyńskiego jako istotny element strategii turystycznej regionu

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the cultural heritage of Cieszyn Silesia as an important element of regional tourism strategy. The richness and diversity of this area, both in terms of nature and culture makes it particularly attractive for visitors. At the same time noticing tourist assets by others, encourages local residents to reflect on the value of heritage, which are depositories and in a broader perspective contributes to the development of local identity. An additional boost to the said activity resulted in changes of recent years: the Polish accession to the European Union and the opening of borders, which for a split since 1920 between Poland and the Czech Republic Cieszyn Silesia was extremely important. The ability to explore historically shaped entire region, brought many projects, including cultural and tourist, in which common fate of these lands was discovered anew. To better illustrate the activity of which I write, in the text I present some examples of the so-called. good practice, which in addition to the revitalization of cultural values, has also brought significant socio – economic dimension.
