Abstract

This article deals with the category of festive activities in the pedagogical context. The author discusses relations between celebrating, leisure time and relax. Relations between these concepts define principles of celebrating and can also be criteria for practical educational activities. Essence of celebration lies not only in well spent time or resting, but it is holiday time filled with joy and enchantment over the contents and values which the particular holiday conveys. Essence of festive activities reveals the spiritual dimensions of celebration; what has been analysed. The importance of family in the process of introduction of the child into the culture of celebrating and creating the festive atmosphere has been giving the attention too. Finally a number of educational tasks concerning the question of celebrating have also been formulated.
