Purpose/Thesis: The wide spread of information and communication technologies, which is reflected in the growing availability of texts in digital forms and devices enabling their reception (laptops, tablets, smartphones), encourages us to do research on reading behaviour in the context of the growing popularity of e-texts and the devices that display them. The aim of the article is to present the results of perception and reception tests of the text in printed and electronic forms. The authors attempt to answer the research question as to whether the text medium affects the perception of the text. Approach/Methods: An experiment was conducted among students whose task was to read the text and answer the questions related to its content. The students were divided into four groups of people reading the text from: from an A4 sheet, a 14-inch laptop, a 6-inch e-book reader and a 5-inch mobile phone. Practical implications: The results of the research can be used in the teaching methods of academic teachers. Originality/Value: The innovativeness of the approach in the research presented in the article is the application of an experiment to collect data which was then subjected to comparative analysis and interpretation. In Polish-language literature on text reception such an approach rarely occurs.pl_PL
