Abstract

The article makes an attempt to describe the relationship between genres in the press. Using methodology by Maria Wojtak and Bożena Witosz, the author underlines intra‑genre relationships between particular genres. The intra‑genre processes can be referred to as including any types of adaptations or contaminations. The inter‑ genre relationships, on the other hand, can be collections of forms or para‑textual genres. The author distinguishes inter‑textual genres in the press. These are letters to editors, as well as press polemics and disclaimers. All these are placed by the author in a broad field of inter‑textuality.
