Abstract

The article concentrates on the analysis of lullabies of various types communicating a hostile image of the world (a metaphor of the world as a battlefield), and contain tips and warnings on how to manage oneself in such reality. The material consisted of functional and poetic lullabies on social issues where encouragement for heroism was shown on the one hand, and promotion of conformist or opportunist attitudes on the other. A separate part was devoted to poetic lullabies continuing a tradition of „moralizing” lullabies in an original way using irony. The analysis of works was preceded by remarks on communicative relationships in different types of lullabies.
