| Abstract: | The article concerns an image of a perfect human being in De perfecta poesi by Sarbiewski. According to him, perfectness consists in a versatile realization of both an active and contemplative life. The article also presents views on contemplation appearing in works by Aristotle, St. Thomas of Aquin and some Renaissance authors like Dante Alighieri, Coluccio Salutati, Christoforo Landino, and Lorenzo Valla. |
