Czy można odczuwać temperaturę za pomocą dotyku? : analiza przymiotników określających wysokość temperatury w języku polskim

Abstract

The article is devoted to the adjectives describing feeling temperature, the semantic analysis of which aims at answering the question included in the title: Can one feel temperature by means of touching? The contemporary sources show that it is possible; however, a historical analysis is not so clear‑cut, the result of which is a low frequency of the words analysed in texts. The studies conducted presented some regularities in the development of the group of words under investigation and also proved its stability, whose reasons should be looked for in the fact that the very words do not undergo civilization changes, as well as the nature of a sensible direct cognition which makes the scope of stimuli received is basically unchanged.
