Abstrakt: | “Dziewczyna”, a magazine for teenagers has been published monthly in Poland since
1990. It is a calque of a German magazine “Mädchen”. It consists of the following sections:
looks, fashion, emotions, flash, a cultured girl, ease and fun, S.O.S. As Piotr Tomasz Nowakowski
writes in his book Models of people propagated in selected magazines for young people.
An anthropological-ethical analysis (Tychy 2004), magazines take care of presenting a model of
a moral flexibility in teenage readers’ life.
The article raises the issue of a reconstruction of a teenage profile presented in “Dziewczyna”
between 200 and 2009. Above all, the attention has been paid to anti-values promoted
in the magazine. Teenage girls described in “Dziewczyna” value pleasure, an egoistic
treatment of the world and another person, and moral norms are far from them, though, if
necessary, they accept values of motherhood, family and friendship. They take care of their
own bodies with utmost care because they think that a life success depends on it. |
