Abstract

The paper is devoted to the issue of children with efectoral speech disorders. It indicates that such disorders are commonly associated with the wrong realization of phonemes. The author uses the example of children suffering from palatoschisis to point out the low intensity of verbal expression and other language use discrepancies displayed by such children. The author also characterizes the speech of children suffering from palatoschisis and its influence on the quality of their lives. The need for early support of such children and the most useful support strategies are also discussed.
