Hypertext is a new phenomenon in transdisciplinary studies. The aim of the article
is to present various methodologies in hypertext studies. The product in question is
observed from the point of view of linguistics, making use of the e-text analysis. A comparison
of a text and e-text as a component unit of a hypertext allows for distinguishing
such text factors common to them, and the ones differentiating the subjects in question.
The analysis of a hypertext on a communicative level is methodologically problematic. The
article presents theories of a communicative-linguistic activity with the use of interactivity.
Similar problems can be observed in the context of cultural studies. New media give
rise to the development of new culture. What becomes an important element is reading,
writing, and comprehension of media text. Despite many methodological opportunities,
a hypertext should be analysed with the use of transdisciplinary methods. The analysis
