dc.description.abstractThe article presents the analysis of the most important techniques used by Wojciech Cejrowski, an author of popular travelogues, aiming at self-promotion (impression creation). The author aims to show selected self-presentation mechanisms, techniques and strategies used by Cejrowski. Two stories on Cejrowski’s trips to the South America and people living there underwent the analysis. Cejrowski tries to confront the civilized world with the culture of wild tribes. The person of the reporter was presented on each level of the text so strongly that it became an equal, if not the most important character, of works. Permeation of conventions of non-fiction with the literature in his reportages, allows Cejrowski to take on different roles. A carefully prepared creation of Cejrowski is visible in each layer of his book travelogues, becoming their most important topic. Irrespective of the role performed in the text, each time he is read by the reader as a strong personality. Any self-presentation measures used coexist with one another, creating an image of an incredibly amusing and competent reporter who is aware of the qualities of his writing and highlights it with delight.pl_PL
