Przełamywanie stereotypów kulturowych

Abstract

The article casts a new light on one of the most widespread stereotypes concerning the Polish and the Russian relations, i.e. a conviction that the Poles are hostile towards the Russians and vice-versa. Therefore the author discusses political changes that have occurred in the Slavic countries during the last twenty five years, conflicts among the Slavs and their cultural background as well as reactions of foreigners towards to the cultural distinctness. The author also enumerates arguments showing that nowadays there is no rational justification for maintaining this stereotype, which creates barriers in the relations between the Poles and the Russians.
