Abstract

Earmarking Grass… is a collection of essays devoted to the authors of the Polish modern literature (Orzeszkowa, Prus, Konopnicka, Sienkiewicz, Leśmian, Brzozowski, Boy, Tuwim) who try to describe a positive dimension of the new reality at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Reading literary texts here is tightly connected with the author’s professional self- -reflection who asks about the situation of his own statement, that is, its entanglement into the subject, its time and a new position of literary studies in the capitalistic world of the beginning of the 21st century. Thereby, the interpretation of the text in this book inseparably overlaps with the interpreter’s introspection.
