Abstract: The article by Marta Tomczok presents Virginia Woolf’s modernist novel entitled Orlando in the light of new studies on migration and female literary nomadism in a version known from the work by Rosi Braidotti Nomadic Subjects. Embodiment and Sexual Difference in Contemporary Feminist Theory. The author of the article interprets Woolf’s prose as the Bible of a female nomadism, nominates the character’s vagrant behaviours as the behaviours described by Braidotti in the language of nomadism. Above all, however, she treats Orlando as a mine of ideas for the interpretation of the latest text, namely Niebieska menażeria, a collection of stories by Izabela Filipiak. The article by Marta Tomczok concerns among others the category of trans-gender adn cross over genre in stories by Filipiak, the relationships between the language, body and subjectivity, as well as feminist animal metaphors and lesbianism.
