Désambiguïsation des expressions lexicales des opérateurs de l'espace dans le cadre d'une approche orientée objets: les verbes de mouvement „monter” et „sortir” et leurs équivalents polonais

Abstract

The dissertation concerns the disambiguation of two French verbs: monter (to go up) and sortir (to go out) which are described as spatial verbs as they refer to the movement in space. The distinction of the meanings that exist in traditional dictionaries and the meanings of words found by means of suggested procedures are to create bilingual dictionary that is supposed to give the most correct automatic translation. That aims to the preparation of the operative, contrastive, description. The disambiguation and the analysis of the verbs were carried out according to the principles of the object approach method and the disambiguation of the meanings of the words proposed by W. Banyś. The disambiguation of the meaning of polysemic word as well as good generation of its equivalents in the target language are the necessary conditions of the effective and satisfying translation supported by computer. The first part of the dissertation presents the contemporary lexicographic theories concerning automatic translation: the Sens Texte model of I.A. Mel’cuk, A.K. Zolkovskij and J.D. Apresjan, the frames scripts dictionary of J. Pustejovsky, B. Boguraev and W. Banyś, the classes of objects of G. Gross, which is fundamental in lexicographic description of the object approach method. It s worth mentioning that the object oriented analysis collects information from different theories in the main description scheme which is the base of the analysis of nouns. The term class of objects is of vital importance in disambiguation of spatial verbs. The first step of our analysis of the verbs consists of enumerating the syntacticsemantic schemes and putting down the contexts and the phrases according to the requirements of the classes of objects of the respective schemes accompanied by the commentary and conclusions as a result of our study. The definitions from the dictionaries are compared, paying particular attention to their constructions and description of the characteristic features of the object that are around of the verb. Our study demonstrates also Polish equivalents of the words used in translation of each scheme, with the precise description of the diffusion of their meaning in typical contexts in Polish language. The results of our study are presented in the form of a board concerning all syntactic- semantic schemes. Our study allows us to notice as many meanings of a word in the source language as in the target language. So in this case the description of a word and the analysis of the verbs are conditioned by the translation in the foreign language.
