Abstrakt: | The author of the article analyses issues concerning the role of a book and reading
during the Holocaust on the basis of chosen books dedicated to a young reader. According
to the researcher, war experiences of little protagonists intersect with literary
stories which help children to survive or become a metaphor of their fears, dreams and
all things that are intangible. What is more, the book and its war reading are a symbol
of a particular order which has been lost during the war and seems to be impossible to
retrieve. That is why the definition of Akademia Pana Kleksa (Mr Kleks’ Academy) by
J. Brzechwa as the story about the world, which on the one hand is destroyed by the
Holocaust, but on the other is degraded by the lack of ink which ensures the cohesion
of the story about the world, has a key meaning for the analysed problem. |
