Abstract

The text is the introduction to the theme of the first volume of publications series titled: Cieszyn Scientific Student Forum. The publishing initiative is rooted in the centuries‑old educational and publishing traditions in Cieszyn. The Author shows the strength of the tradition of academic education in Cieszyn on the background of multiculturality and knowledge‑based society. She presents the intention of initiators (researchers and students from The Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Science of Silesian University in Katowice) to create a joint publication titled: “Between theory and practice” commencing publications series: Cieszyn Scientific Student Forum — the forum of thought presentation and exchange for the future and beginning educators, animators and ethnologists, which may contribute in the future to even more intense scientific, organizational and social activity of students and to engage young staff in doing research.
