Title: Polifonia : literatura polska początku XXI wieku
Authors: Nęcka, Agnieszka
Keywords: proza polska XXI w.; recenzje książek
Issue Date: 2015
Publisher: Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Śląskiego
Abstract: The book focuses primarily on the attempt to demonstrate nuances of recent Polish prose. This is emphasised by the title of the volume, which refers to the realm of wishful thinking having its source in longing for polyphony, and therefore a greater diversity of the contemporary literature. Among the most recent publication of prose by writers being more or less part of the mainstream, which were issued between 2009 and 2014, there may be noticed items wherein highly conspicuous are echoes of metaphysics or autobiographical traces. There may be spotted books which had been dominated by reminiscences of the History, reverberations of fears, tones of love, sounds of travel (both real and metaphorical), or endeavour of imagination. As a result, Polyphony… can be read as a type of recapitulation of the contemporary literary system, the pretext for which was provided by intimate reading novels by such writers as, among others: Anna Dziewit-Meller, Maciej Gierszewski, Wioletta Grzegorzewska, Inga Iwasiów, Hubert Klimko-Dobrzaniecki, Marek Ławrynowicz, Miłka O. Malzahn, Jerzy Pilch, Patrycja Pustkowiak, Eustachy Rylski, Mariusz Sieniewicz, Jerzy Sosnowski, Andrzej Stasiuk, Olga Tokarczuk or Krzysztof Varga and Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało.
