Abstract

The article compares the way of realizing a delimitative frame and expressing a sender‑receiver relationship in love correspondence from the 18th and 20th century. The already existent stylistic conventions and composing rules were loosened in the mid 18th century, which allows for searching modern people in the 18th century letter‑writing. As it turns out from the comparison conducted, the 18th century began only the search for a free form of a love letter whereas its realizations were still restricted by convention. In the light of the former correspondence, the 20th century one is marked with bigger naturalness and novelty accompanied by a high schematization of composing rules.
