dc.description.abstractThe book is intended mostly for those wanting to improve their pedagogical competence – in‑service teachers as well as students of early childhood education, future primary education teachers. In addition to the theoretical aspects of learning, the book also discusses their practical implications combining selected pedagogical theories with innovative methods and techniques of introducing children to independent, activesubjective learning. The book, therefore, proposes looking at these theories in relation to such issues as: What kind of information children internalize; how they design or co‑design the learning process; how they control and evaluate it (how they incorporate self‑control and self‑evaluation) – in short – what kind of knowledge (declarative, procedural and personality‑forming. Much of the book has been devoted to children’s communication and collaboration with the teacher and with their classmates and to teachers’ collaboration with parents. These issues are covered in the book’s six consecutive chapters. The set of exercises for students and children, references to professional literature as well as educational projects and ideas for teacher’s collaboration with parents that are included in the book, are meant to inspire the readers’ reflection and search for the principles to inform and guide their own teaching practice.pl_PL
