The treatise is a collection of studies devoted to peculiarities of Biblical Hebrew, which manifest themselves on each layer that a language can be analyzed – that is, from the symbolic layer codified in the alphabet, meanings in the lexis, grammar (morphology in particular), and syntax, to grand textual allegoric tropes and speech genres. The issue of the pluralism, dynamics and the impossibility of exhausting possible readings is illustrated with the analyses of terms that refer to truth, knowledge, sensual modalities, error, faith, good, beauty, hope, love, justice, etc. Moreover, their simultaneous precision and allegorical character embedded in terms such as breathing, eating, walking is shown. Aside from that, the author makes an attempt to interpret the Judaic tetragrammaton YHWH, sacred to the followers. The analysis of the desemantization of the Hebrew lexeme ‘face’, has been complimented with a description of idioms that contain this phrase, as well as a classification of utterances that refer to the ‘countenance’ of God. The text proves that the concepts of causation and intensification are not only differently defined in the Polish language and Classical Hebrew, where they are predominantly realized through morphology (however, not limited to it), but in fact, they refer to disparate phenomena of understanding the world. The idea that entwines the whole book is the concept of intangible nature of sense, which is dependent on ontology that is inherent in the natural language, and of the inability to read The Tanakh till the last page.pl_PL
