Abstract: Spanish print media market has been experiencing serious crisis since 2007. The newspapers circulation sharply reduced. Every national daily newspaper, regional newspaper as well, took actions to expand its activity in the internet. There are three basic models of functioning of the press on the web on the Spanish newspaper market: free, paid and mixed. The aim of this article is to show the changes that have occurred in the press of Spain since the mid‑90s, when the press treated their web presence as some supplement, up to the present, when the digital version of the newspaper is becoming an equally importantand ubiquitous form of reading.
