Szybkość, pośpiech, kompresja : "poetyka przyśpieszenia" w poezji Krystyny Miłobędzkiej

Abstract

The book deals with the analysis and interpretation of one of the most significant elements in the poetry of Krystyna Miłobędzka, namely, variously valorized rush and a concomitant pursuit of a moment and altruistic rush. Dealing with this issue is considered as innovative not only from the perspective of concrete (or shape) poetry, or linguistic poetry, as well as in a broader view: the rush regarded as a syndrome of modernity. Fundamental to such approach is the assumption that the idea of time — shaped by cultural acceleration — also influences works by poets who seem not to be concerned with the civilization changes. Moreover, the assumption allows for a discovery of various and unexpected connections between the aesthetics of the 20th century avant-garde poets (especially projects forwarded by the futurist poets and the avant-garde movement in Polish poetry — the Awangarda krakowska — both entranced by the rush and encouraging into “jump into the now”) as well as the neo-avant-garde works by Miłobędzka, whose attitude to them seems less favorable. Selected poems by Wisława Szymborska and Urszula Kozioł provide additional context to these interpretational inquiries. The author is particularly interested in experimenting with chronos; specific treatment of time, that is its relativization, compression, replacement with space, a constant need to change, demonization and an attempt to catch it or flee from it. A rich specter of artistic means of expression remains in the focus of interest. Rush — thematized by Miłobędzka for a number of times — actually puts order to her poetic deliberations on each level; whereas multifariousness of its impact encourages to use the phrase of „the poetics of acceleration.”
