Sztuka a sztuka ludowa : rozważania o pojęciach, powinowactwie i relacjach : rekonesans

Abstract

The major problem related to an sketch arises from considerations about two concepts: one – present in the discourse about artistic culture and another one occurring in a wide common use. The concepts are ‘art’ and ‘folk art’. However, the objective of the text does not consist in tracking their historical retrospective redefinitions. What is a leading element here is a comparative aspect, and as a result – the analysis of the meanings and connotations ascribed to them, which on the one hand are shaped by the range of cultural practices, and on the other hand occur in the field of the inter-domain relationships and connections between so-called ‘official art’ (“elite”) and ‘folk art’.
