Abstract: Kant’s text comes to be read from the vantage-point of footnotes and examples, its voice-overs. The discourse of The Critique of Judgement or, more precisely, “The Analytic of the Beautiful” is, in fact, instituted by a footnote which by being anchored to the title rather than the text comes before its letter. And as Jacques Derrida says this gloss “touches on a difficulty so decisive that one cannot see why it does not constitute the principal text of which it forms the ground bass, that is, the unwritten or underwritten space”.
