Abstract

Quotation and literary allusion, under the terms of the proposition given here by the author of the article, are two forms declaration. The quotation is a word for word declaration citation of a discrete thematic unit. Literary allusion is a transformations of the text-model. The minimum „discrete thematic unit” is a sentence. This clarity of the relation between the texts is of significance for the semantic essence of a literary work; quotation is equivalent to the carrying over of meaning to the new context and activating the syntactic relation between the signs. The use of allusion is motivated by the desire to produce new meanings; transforming of the text-model causes activattion of the paardigmatic relations.
