Przestrzenie ludyczne miasta - próba typologizacji

Abstract

The paper is summary of the PHD project which anallyses ludus spaces and attempts to present their typology playing special attention to urban spaces. The first divisions of space result from their location in the city space (open and closed spaces) or their permanent or temporary character (formal and informal). The author notices the existence privat urban ludus spaces, such as flats or gardens, and public spaces accessible to everyone. Basing on the accessibility, the author distinguishes open, hidden, easily-accessible and elite paces. The way in which given spaces function is another factor for their division into institutional and non-institutional ones. According to the author, postindustrial ludus spaces play particular role as they reintroduce urban space previously taken up by industry. The author also focuses on spaces which are created as a side effect of the urban style of life. They include enterprises supervised by city authorities which are to offer mass entertainment for the city inhabitants. In her work, the author analyses the process of disapperrance and appearance of new ludus apaces taking as an example the Cieszyn (the town) as well as transgression ludus spaces and ethnic spaces connected with the location of the city close to the state borders and the Czech part of the town.
