In the present article the author performed an analysis of selected lyrics of Polish songs
treating of women, men and the relations between them. The first part discusses the stereotype
of women in the Polish culture. The second part is devoted to the stereotype of men. On the
basis of the material that was collected, the author has described the cultural image of a wife
and a husband. The paper contributes to further considerations regarding the Polish stereotype
of gender in the context of self-presentation and self-promotion.
