Regionalny dyskurs humorystyczny na przykładzie śląskich i góralskich dowcipów o małżeństwie

Abstract

The aim of the article is to present regional humorous discourse as exemplified by contemporary humour and (extra)linguistic picture of the world in the Highland and Silesian ethnic groups. The investigation has been narrowed down to the analysis of a specific fragment of reality, which is the picture of marriage functioning in the aforementioned communities. A distinctive point of view, characteristic of the groups under consideration, seems to be the decisive factor for the categorization of the world or for the process of shaping the perspective from which a given object, subject, or quality in the linguistic picture of the world is perceived, and the stereotypes (of a husband, wife, marriage, and many more) which function in a given community are best reflected in regional humour. The latter part of the article is focused on the discussion of selected mechanisms of generating comic effects (e.g. ambiguity), and the quality and frequency of linguistic means that are applied in order to bring out expression.
