Abstract: | The book is an attempt to describe the mechanisms of eroticism and pornography
on the example of their functioning in Raz w roku w Skiroławkach,
a novel by Zbigniew Nienacki. First, the author shows what influence using
an Old-Polish tradition in shaping the novel world has on a reader educated
on the Romantic model. Further on, she reckons on, among others, the categories
of norms, seduction, shame, obscenity, and scandal organizing the
perspective of novel reception. The book Raz w roku w Skiroławkach presents
the image of eroticism that is not subject to generalization. Eroticism and
pornography are the “revolutionary” forces for the author, the only principle
of which is changeability, alternate demolition of a social system (pornography),
and assimilation therein (eroticism). |
