Abstract

The subject of the article is the problem of disturbed speech development in children considered from the perspective of a parent. Based on her personal experience, the author discusses the role of parents in speech and language therapy, emphasising the necessity of their cooperation with both the speech therapist and school (kindergarten) peer environment of a child. The author points out the importance of constant reinforcement of child’s motivation to work on speech improvement as well as the necessity of focusing attention on positive aspects in child’s development, which is the starting point of speech disorders treatment.
