Abstrakt: | The aim of the work is effort to analyze transformations of literary institutions in the
context of technological, cultural and social changes. Self-publishing is an example
of such transformations and a starting point for further reflection on contemporary
literary life. At the beginning of the work I present the current state of literary life and
the book market, and stressed phenomena of self-publishing. I am looking for
historical roots of such a way of publishing books and present authors, which is
publishing in this way. I follow the motivations of authors, readers and the
transformation of literary institutions. Then I look at the specifics of books published
in this way, the problem of editorial norm and graphomania. I am asking about the
role of the author, whose power grows in the literary field, readers and literary
criticism. I research, that freedom and economy as two of the most important values
for self-publishing. |
