Baza funkcjonalna dworców kolejowych w konurbacji katowickiej

Abstract

The article discusses the problem of the functionality of the railway stations locatedat the active lines in the most urbanized part of Silesian Voivodeship – in Katowice Conurbation. Data on the studied objects collected during the inventory carried out in mid-2013. The study focused on the most important functions of station buildings – communication, trade and services. These data show that the Katowice conurbation railway stations show a large disparity of functional, frequently acting multifunctional objects communicatively especially tight connected with public transport, as well as the structure of interacting functional and spatial environment.
