Fitocenozy z udziałem dębu czerwonego (Quercus rubra L. ) na terenie nadleśnictwa Kobiór i ich znaczenie dla uprawy tego gatunku

Abstract

Northern red oak is the most common alien tree plant species in Polish forests. Presently this species is considered by many of scientists to be invasive and dange-rous for the natural phytocoenoses in Poland. On the other hand, the Northern red oak is often important component of forest cultures that could bring large profits for forest districts. Maybe, the compromise solution of this dispute could be cultivation of this species in some habitats only. The paper presents phytosociological analysis of communities with Northern red oak share in the area of the Kobiór Forest District (the Upper Silesia) with particular reference to regene-ration of the species in all types of phytocoenoses.
